In light of the changing regulatory environment for federal contractors, DirectEmployers will be hosting it’s 2014 Annual Meeting and Conference in the Washington, D.C. metro area, with the goal of providing it’s over 350 attendees with educational information and networking opportunities.

INDIANAPOLIS, March 21, 2014 –– From March 25-27, DirectEmployers Association and representatives from its over 650 member companies will travel to Washington, D.C. to conduct its second Veterans Connect Career Fair, followed by its annual meeting and conference. Held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia, attendees will begin the event by networking and recruiting veterans and transitioning service members. The following two days will allow the talent acquisition and compliance practitioners to continue their education by gaining a deeper understanding of the new regulations enforced by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), as well as tactical tips and advice on new technology and best practices that aid in recruitment efforts.

The event will kick off with a Veterans Connect Career Fair on March 25, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. With the goal of helping veterans and transitioning service members find meaningful civilian employment, this event is free to attend and will allow employers and veteran job seekers to connect and discuss their unique qualifications and skillsets. On March 26-27, 2014, following the Veterans Connect Career Fair, the Association will host member companies for its 2014 Annual Meeting and Conference (DEAM14), filled with engaging speakers, educational sessions and inspiring networking events. The conference will also feature keynote speakers such as employment law attorney John C. Fox of Fox, Wang and Morgan; and disability advocate John Robinson. Topics covered at this event will range from OFCCP compliance related to VEVRAA and Section 503, recruitment, sourcing and emerging technology relevant to today’s talent acquisition and compliance professionals. The DEAM14 agenda will feature presentations from several organizations including: Sodexo, Berhshire Associates, UnitedHealth Group, Thermo Fisher Scientific, EMC Corporation, Intel Corporation, Virginia Employment Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Pacific Northwest Laboratories, KPMG, Phillips 66, Pinnacle Affirmative Action Services, OfficeMax, Vanderbilt University, Charles Schwab, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, National Organization on Disability, and Vantiv.
