A resume program available to job seekers and employers nationwide

Indianapolis, IN – January, 2006 – DirectEmployers Association, a non-profit consortium of over 200 leading U.S. employers, today announced the release of “National Labor Exchange”, a resume program on its JobCentral.com employment web site. The announcement was made by Bill Warren, Executive Director of the Association.
It’s more important for employers to get their job listings in front of the right niche audience and get help with services such as candidate screening than it is to gather a mountain of résumés, says Kevin Wheeler, president of consulting firm Global Learning Resources, which focuses on recruiting and employee development. “It’s not a volume game anymore,” he says. “Success is going to come from targeted marketing.”
National Labor Exchange, available to job seekers and employers nationwide, allows job seekers to enter resumes free of charge. DirectEmployers’ member companies can access the resumes at no charge. Non-member employers will be charged an annual $25.00 registration fee.
“Our goal, says Warren, a former president of Monster.com and widely recognized as the founder of Internet recruiting, is to continue to develop an employment site on the Internet where no employer or individual is denied access to the job market due to financial or technological barriers. The program allows job seekers in all industries to make their resume available to a broader range of employers nationwide.”
In addition to assisting job seekers with normal career transition, the National Labor Exchange will provide outplacement and career services for displaced workers and company-to-company networking capabilities for the management of our country’s labor force.
DirectEmployers’ objective is to create a public site where no employer or individual is denied access to the job market due to financial or technological barriers.
