Organization Cites Development of its DirectEmployers.com Search Engine, Entrée into the College Market and Membership Growth as Reasons for Name Change

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – January 06, 2003 – Citing tremendous growth in membership and the recent expansions in its wide array of services, E-Recruiting Association, the non-profit organization formed by executives from leading U.S. corporations, announced today that it has changed its name to DirectEmployers Association. The announcement was made by Bill Warren, Executive Director of DirectEmployers Association.
Since its introduction, E-Recruiting Association has developed and overseen the successful launch of the Internet’s first online job search engine, DirectEmployers.com, and has experienced an impressive surge in its number of member companies. In addition, the group also finalized a monumental agreement with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) to help launch and run NACElink, a national, integrated, web-based college recruiting system that has been designed to better meet the placement and recruiting needs of colleges, students and employers.
Reached by an overwhelming consensus of its membership, the decision to rename the organization DirectEmployers Association was made in order to better reflect the current identity of the group as a non-profit cooperative of employers equally empowered to have input and influence over the future direction of the organization.
“This is an exciting time for all of us at DirectEmployers Association,” said Bill Warren, Executive Director. “Over the past year we have experienced tremendous growth and achievement. The new name accurately communicates the path we are taking toward becoming an all-encompassing recruitment association for employers. While the dedication to quality and commitment associated with the E-Recruiting Association name will always remain, we believe that the DirectEmployers Association name change will more effectively position us for more growth and an even greater amount of new business ventures.”
“It also gives our company an easily recognized identity mirroring our web address, www.directemployers.com – something that’s essential in the technological world of today’s hiring and job seeking environments,” added Mr. Warren. “In addition to the web address, the new name will be immediately represented in a brand new company logo and all future promotional materials.”
DirectEmployer Association’s member companies include an impressive group of industry leaders such as Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT), Accenture (NYSE: ACN), Allegis Group, Alltel Corporation (NYSE: AT), Analysts International (Nasdaq: ANLY), AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN), Bank One (NYSE: ONE), BAE Systems (BAESF.PK), Bausch & Lomb (NYSE: BOL), Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Cingular Wireless, Eastman Kodak (NYSE: EK), GE (NYSE: GE), Getronics, Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ), Hall Kinion (Nasdaq: HAKI), H&R Block (NYSE: HRB), IBM (NYSE: IBM), John Deere (NYSE: DE), Kindred Healthcare (Nasdaq: KIND), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Merck (NYSE: MRK), Motorola (NYSE: MOT), Mutual of Omaha (NYSE: MUO), Nestle USA, Inc.
