During the month of May, 30,000+ runners will participate in the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, 300,000+ fans will cheer on their favorite driver at the Indianapolis 500, and over 300 HR professionals will learn how to bridge the gap between recruitment and OFCCP compliance at the DirectEmployers 2015 Annual Meeting & Conference (DEAM15). Needless to say, a lot of big things are happening this month in the Circle City!

Our conference, like the City of Indianapolis, brings together people from a variety of backgrounds and interests. This year’s theme, “Bridging the Gap” reflects how our event is designed to help HR professionals get a firmer grip on OFCCP compliance regulations and learn how these regulations impact recruitment efforts.

New this year, DEAM15 includes a pre-conference for those interested in taking a deeper dive in either recruitment or affirmative action planning. In addition, feedback forum sessions will provide Members a chance to contribute to the ongoing development of our Association’s products and services. As always, there’s plenty of time for networking too! Here are tips from event insiders to make sure you don’t skip a beat at DEAM15:

DEAM15 Demo Hall Passport cardGet your passport stamped:
We know one of the last things you probably want is to be bombarded by pushy salespeople. That’s why we designed the Demo Hall for attendees and underwriters. No crazy antics, just businesses ready to share the latest trends in technology, information on partnerships and help solve your challenges.

It’s also important to note that these organizations helped underwrite the conference so we can keep it free for Members and reasonable for non-members.

To help guide you through the Demo Hall, we created a “passport.” Just spend a little time at each pedestal and get your card “punched.” Once you have visited all of the pedestals make sure to enter your passport into the drawing to win an Apple watch!

Bring business cards:
Given all of the fantastic speakers, underwriters, attendees and staff, it’s likely you’ll make a lot of connections. Be sure to pack your business cards so you can maintain contact with the great folks you meet at DEAM15.

Chat it up on social media:
The official conference hashtag is #DEAM15. Whether you’re on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn, share the fun and please include #DEAM15 on all of your posts and photos!

Smile for your headshot:
Have you had the same profile picture for over 5 years? A professional headshot can cost a lot of money, but why buy one when you can have yours taken for free at #DEAM15? Just visit the photo booth located by the registration desk near the elevator and escalator.

Share your story in an interview:
We are always on the lookout for people interested in being interviewed, and our conference is one of the best places to capture great material. Interview footage is incredibly helpful in developing blog content, testimonials and sharing best practices. To set up an interview, please email Communications Manager Kacie Firkins at Kacie@DirectEmployers.org.

Touch base with your Membership Development Rep and Digital Strategist:
Whether you talk to someone at DirectEmployers regularly or annually, connecting with your Membership Development Representative and Digital Strategist is a unique opportunity to get to know the person behind the voice on the phone or email. If you’re not sure who your points of contact are, no worries! Each name badge will include a card with the information of your contacts. Our team is eager to meet Members personally and discuss ways to get the most from your membership.

Visit both the recruitment and compliance pedestals:
If you don’t have time to connect one-on-one with your DirectEmployers contacts, we also have pedestals in the demo hall. One will be geared toward OFCCP compliance, and the other recruitment marketing. It’s another chance to learn more about your Member benefits, see live demos and get answers to your questions.

Throughout the event, DirectEmployers staff members will be available to address any needs or questions. We look forward to hosting you here in Indy for DEAM15!
