In a previous post I explained that no .JOBS Solution is the same. We have 125 different companies investing in a .JOBS strategy and everyone of them is a little bit different. With that said all 125 different solutions fit into three different scenarios. In my last blog post I detailed scenario #1, Stand-Alone .JOBS Sites. Today I will be looking at scenario #2, Job Search Flexibility. This scenario is built around giving companies the ability to be more flexible with the job search technology found on their corporate career site. Applicant Tracking System (ATS) technology was first build to be a database of jobs and candidates, because of this, the job search functionality has for the most part been clunky. ATS job search technology usually has lots of drop-downs, it’s not the easiest to configure in terms of colors, fonts, and imagery, its hard to link to, and it offers no SEO value whatsoever. All of these issues can be alleviated by implementing .JOBS Sites as the front face of job search. In this scenario companies use .JOBS sites to take the place of their clunky ATS job search. Instead of iframing their ATS into the page, they instead link to their .JOBS Sites from their corporate career site. This makes for a simpler job search process and gives way more flexibility in terms of branding out the job search process. Below is an image showing a visual breakdown of what is possible in this scenario along with two examples.
