The following press release was authored by HR Policy Association and was originally posted on April 4, 2013.

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–America’s largest employers have joined together to create a unique new job board, WeHireAmerica.jobs, to help attract qualified applicants to fill more than a quarter of a million existing jobs* for workers at all skill levels. WeHireAmerica.jobs is operated through a partnership between HR Policy Association, the lead organization of chief human resource officers of the nation’s large employers, and DirectEmployers Association, a nonprofit HR consortium of leading global employers. By combining the resources of these two organizations, WeHireAmerica.jobs is able to feature job openings of more than 300 of the nation’s largest employers and provide job seekers with streamlined access to more than 250,000 unfilled positions.

A recent study of the jobs on WeHireAmerica.jobs by Burning Glass International, Inc., (http://www.hrpolicy.org/downloads/2013/Snapshot_of_WeHireAmerica.pdf) reveals opportunities are available across the nation and in all major industries. The study also reveals:

  • Three industries account for fifty-seven percent of WeHireAmerica.jobs postings: finance and insurance, manufacturing, and retail trade.
  • Sixty-three percent of the postings require a four-year college degree or more.
  • Seventy-five percent of the postings that require a four-year degree also require three or more years of experience.

Furthermore, according to HR Policy Association’s 2013 membership survey, member companies (representing 20 million employees worldwide) report that they have the most difficulty hiring well prepared employees with the following positions:

  • Engineers (39%)
  • Skilled trades workers (39%)
  • Information technology professionals (38%)
  • Technicians (30%)
  • Management/executives (23%)

Jaime Fall, HR Policy Association’s Vice President, Workforce and Talent Development Policy said, “Even in this time of relatively slow job growth, employers are looking for qualified individuals to fill positions at all skill levels from coast to coast. WeHireAmerica.jobs has something to offer most everyone, with jobs ranging from full-time technical positions requiring security clearances to part-time positions in retail sales or food service and nearly everything in between.”

WeHireAmerica.jobs makes finding the right jobs easy by allowing searches by keywords, company name, state, city, or by searching through the most popular searches. Additionally, WeHireAmerica.jobs offers:

  • Direct Access to Jobs: WeHireAmerica.jobs links directly to employer application pages. Job seekers will not waste time registering personal information, clicking through ads, or navigating pages of unrelated material incorporated by many for-profit job-boards.
  • Accurate Information: Managed by a coalition of employers, WeHireAmerica.jobs provides accurate job listings which are updated daily.
  • Safe Postings: WeHireAmerica.jobs uses only information provided from participating employer career sites and is free of false job postings prevalent on some job boards that troll for personal financial information.
  • Association with jobipedia.org: jobipedia.org is a free new website where students, recent graduates and first time or entry-level job seekers can ask questions about job searching and get answers directly from experienced recruiting professionals at America’s top employers. Companies participating in jobipedia.org are also members of the HR Policy Association and may also participate in WeHireAmerica.jobs.

* WeHireAmerica.jobs features up-to-date job listings, so the number of listed jobs fluctuates from day-to-day. As of March 29, 2013, WeHireAmerica.jobs featured 250,000 job openings.
